Château Touzinat, in the heart of Saint-Emilion vineyard

A remarkable potential

Château Touzinat is the latest estate to join Vignobles Invindia, in 2018. For Jean-Pierre Derouet, it was both "a coup de cœur and a leap of faith." From the outset, he recognized the strong potential of this estate, reflecting his love for Saint-Émilion. It all began with a chance meeting: a Mayennais was selling the estate and naturally crossed paths with Jean-Pierre, also from Mayenne and passionate about Saint-Émilion.

Before its acquisition, the estate sold part of its production in bulk and bottled the rest for direct sales from the property. According to the records found on-site, Château Touzinat is one of the pioneers in bottling and direct sales in Saint-Émilion.

The building is currently undergoing renovation to offer a guesthouse that reflects our vision: a place for sharing and conviviality in a relaxed manner. The various rooms and common areas are designed to accommodate groups, whether professionals or private visitors, who come to explore the riches of this beautiful region.

Terroirs & grape varieties

The house and the winery are located in the commune of Saint Pey d'Armens, but the estate's vineyards are not all situated around the buildings. Nevertheless, the entire area is located on what is known as the foot of the slopes. The first part, in the commune of Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, features clay-limestone soils that rest on the Fronsadais molasse, similar to that of our Château la Vieille Croix. This high-quality terroir is one of the oldest Bordeaux formations, comparable to those in Fronsac. The second part is characterized by clay-limestone soils rich in iron crasse.

Three different grape varieties are cultivated on the Château Touzinat plots. Merlot, the flagship grape of Saint-Émilion, covers 70% of the area. Cabernet Franc makes up 25%, and recently, the remaining 5% has been planted with Carménère.
